I’ve had the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro for a few months now and made a number of discoveries that might be important to people thinking of buying this camera. This isn’t a full review, I don’t touch on any of the good features that this camera has (which there are many) but instead I go over the flaws that this camera has and talk about how big or small they might be and how you can deal with them.
Over all the BMPCC 6K Pro is a fantastic cinema camera. For the money, you can’t beat it!
*About sensor read-out speeds — It’s hard to find any official stats for read-out speed for cameras. The speeds I give here are my best guess after compiling a number of unofficial tests carried out by a number of websites. I’m pretty happy with the quoted BMPCC 6K Pro read-out speed and the Sony A7s iii, I quote a speed of 6ms for the Alexa, this is the most popular opinion I can find online but some claim that newer models ( like the Alexa mini shown in the video) have a speed of 4ms or even 2ms) Whatever the true speeds are, the Alexa is the fastest and the BMPCC 6K Pro the slowest.
