The snare roll starts and you pick up the guitar. You're not planning anything. Just noodling. Seeing what's there.
By the first verse you're playing harder than you meant to. The kick lands on the one and something in you answers it. The snare cracks on the four and you dig in deeper than you planned.
By the second verse you're playing things you've never played before. Not technically. You knew the notes. You just didn't know you'd reach for them. The crash ride opens up and you follow it somewhere you haven't been. The accents land where you didn't expect them and your playing goes with them, harder and further than you started.
Somewhere in there it stops being noodling.
You didn't know you had that in you. The beat did.
Free for jamming and practice. Recording and release requires a license at jimdooley.net. Whatever just came out of your guitar, you should probably record it.

I have a few free beats on the site so you can get a feel for things before committing to anything. For the full catalog there are two membership tiers. Here's what's available for most beats - check the beat's page to confirm what's there for a specific one before signing up:
- *Full-length beat* - the complete original recording as a WAV file. A real performance with an arrangement, not a loop.
- *Drum loops* - short excerpts from the full performance, usually one to four measures, cut to repeat seamlessly in a DAW. The building blocks for arranging your own song structure.
- *Multitrack stems* - the raw individual tracks, one file per microphone. For anyone who wants to mix the kit from scratch. 24-bit WAV only.
- *16-bit WAV* - CD quality. Standard for most recording and release work.
- *24-bit WAV* - studio quality. Higher resolution, larger files.
- *MP3* - smaller file size. Same performance, easier to move around.
*About my videos*
There are two types on my channel: original beats, which are full recordings with arrangements, and 20-minute versions made from loops for longer practice sessions. The 20-minute beats aren't available as a single download, but grab the loops from the site and you can arrange them yourself - loop them as long as you want.
If you've been getting use out of these beats, joining the site is the best way to make sure there are always more on the way - and it's genuinely appreciated.
