In this lesson, you’ll learn 3 blues guitar licks using the diminished scale to add a jazz/fusion flavor to your playing. This technique, made popular by Robben Ford, is a powerful way to create tension and color in your solos.
The diminished scale is an “outside” sounding scale built on a symmetrical pattern of alternating half-steps and whole-steps, commonly used in jazz improvisation. By applying it to a blues context, you can instantly bring a fusion edge to your playing.
