The "blues from scratch" series of videos will introduce blues violin from first principles, starting at a very basic level- in fact with just one note over one chord! This third video introduces the E minor pentatonic scale. We look at the easy fingering you can use over a single octave of the scale.
I demonstrate a simple pentatonic melody, first repeated through the changing 12 bar sequence, and then a more consonant melody- still using the same scale, but emphasising the chord changes.
Each of the videos in the series will have an extended backing track at the end. A free pdf of the exercises in this lesson is available to subscribers (see below).
