The Cajun Cottonpickers (with special guest Dayna Wills) play Blues for Dixie. "Blues for Dixie" was written around about 1947 by Cindy Walker. Cindy Walker gave authorship of Blues for Dixie, as a gift, to her friend O. W. Mayo, who was Bob Wills's manager. [[ THE HISTORY OF TEXAS MUSIC by Gary Hartman; pg.184 ]] The Cajun Cottonpickers' guest Dayna Wills is on vocals, and feature Billy Wilson on pedal steel guitar, Mitch Polzak on guitar, Woody Vermiere on violin, Steven Strauss on bass guitar, and Timothy Orr on drums. This music was recorded on March 13, 2011, at the the historic 23 Club in Brisbane, California.
