Welcome to this livestream from a back garden located in Loughborough, UK. A female Blue Tit has finished building her nest and we now have eight eggs. It seems as though the incubation stage started on the 18th of April which means the first chicks should start to hatch around 30th of April - 2nd of May.
The male takes no part in building the nest but has been seen looking for the female and as the process moves along he will feed her while she is incubating the eggs and he will also bring food for the chicks as they hatch.
There will be times of inactivity when the nest is empty but you should be able to rewind the live video to search for visits to the box.
If you do happen to spot a bit of action please note the time in the chat. This will allow others to zip to the spot and become acquainted with our little friend.

Why is the box on the side of a house and not in a tree?
Unfortunately the tree used in 2021 came down in a storm last year. Yes, there are other trees in the garden but there's another issue. One of the neighbours has an extraordinarily determined cat. Previous viewers may have seen the video where a white paw appears via the entrance hole while the cat sits on the roof of the box. No amount of spikes on the roof, aluminium wrapped around the tree trunk or chicken wire barricade could defeat this particular cat so it was thought better to mount it to the wall of the house. So far so good...
