decided to do a rewatch of some episodes of season 7 this weekend and... gee. ended up crying on my couch. i haven't rewatched these episodes in five years and i was unprepared about how much of an effect these two still have on my heart. a welcomed stress reliever from #adulting.

SUMMARY: harry potter is dead. in the aftermath of the war, in order to strengthen the might of the magical world, voldemort enacts a repopulation effort. hermione granger has an order secret, lost but hidden in her mind, so she is sent as a handmaiden to the high reeve until her mind can be cracked.
TW: this is a VERY dark au that tackles very heavy themes of war, torture, and rape. mind the tags before reading the story. please note this is not for everyone. however, i’ve kept this vid fairly non-explicit.
WOWEEE. this fic was a roller coaster that left me speechless, d!mn. i was pretty skeptical because I’ve never gotten into dramione before, but after seeing this fic around since FOREVER, I decided to read it on a fluke and fell down this rabbit hole. this was so incredibly well written my mind is blown; galaxy brain. truly - if you’re going to read this fic - just get to chapter 25. it’s a long haul and you may second guess yourself part way through it - but just continue.
while I feel like this vid is a lot more upbeat - and since this fic is, uh, 78% NOT upbeat - I hope it still captures the vibe of the story. I became quite obsessed with this song while reading, as it was on an amazing apple playlist. it played at a particular moment (for those who have read it: when hermione has an eye accident...) and I had CHILLS. same as to when adeles skyefall came on just at the end of chp 25. 10/10 would recommend.
anyways - I’m not sure I did this fic justice, but high reeve Draco SCREAMS this song. high reeve draco man. also this whole thing about her memories, and WHY she hid her memories.... just... how could I resist....
