On the 8th July 2016 typhoon Nepartak crashed into the city of Taitung in south east Taiwan with an estimated intensity of 110kts (1 min average) / 90kts (10 min average) - a category 3 storm. However the violent winds, damage and comparing it to other storm's I've chased, I'm firmly convinced the true landfall intensity was much stronger.
