For me the best place to read and write is in my car, you can enjoy long stretches of silence there, but sometimes I will just sit and stare with the windows open and there might be a strong wind and it's blowing a glass bottle down a long stretch of road and I'll just listen to that sound, it's not expected, it has its own rhythms, a melody, and it's real enough to be interesting, sometimes more interesting than anything else
