@thiccdrifter69 has been drifting in Lone Star Drift for more than a decade at this point, and he has been on of the last SR20DET drift guys in Texas. The engines are getting old, unreliable ( you can argue the reasons, but they just are ) and it is time to do something that makes more sense for him. So we go chat with him and check out his project at the shop! He is partway through his Texas Speed LQ9 engine prep and car build ( even though he got it as a finished car ). He has less than two weeks to get it all together, and get it to the next event so I can tandem with him! Funny enough, I have been through a similar amount of SR20DET, but back in 2007, I had one failure too many and decided to swap to an LS1 before there were even swap kits available. I have been on the dark side of the V8 stuff in imports for so long I forget people still consider it even a controversial thing! I just want my Lone Star Drift drivers to enjoy drifting and not quit, so him getting away from a punishing turbo drivetrain and into a V8 drivetrain that will most likely be unstressed and super reliable is great for our events, and I am excited for him!
