Snowshoeing through fresh powder in Delaware State Forest’s Blooming Grove Trail System, this winter hike turned into a quiet backcountry adventure. With deep snow, sparse trail traffic, confusing blazes, and plenty of wildlife signs (including busy beavers hard at work), the route kept things interesting from start to finish. When conditions got tough, a little off-trail navigation helped shorten the loop and bring the journey full circle. A beautiful late-winter day, a determined trail dog, and a reminder that sometimes the map is only a suggestion.
