We checked out the brand-new Bloody Mary maze at Knott’s Scary Farm on opening night, and while we were excited to see it, we left a bit disappointed.
The biggest issue we noticed was pacing. Knott’s needs to avoid packing so many people into the maze at once, and there really should have been staff inside directing groups to keep moving. Instead, we ended up in long stop-and-go sections that pulled us out of the experience.
On top of that, some areas were so dark it was hard to see any detail, and several of the technical effects weren’t working on opening night.
That said, we know opening night often comes with hiccups, and we believe most of these issues will be resolved as the event goes on. We’ll be back later this season to see how things improve, because the concept of Bloody Mary has real potential.
