Who loves Halloween--and blood? This look literally freaked out my friend because she thought it was real!

What you'll need:
Clear nail polish
A peach-colored or white nail polish
Red nail polish
Dark red nail polish
Nail art brush (optional)
Nail dotting tool
Instructions:
1. Apply a clear top coat, followed by two coats of your favorite white or peach nail color. Be neat, but don't worry too much about it being perfect on the top, since we'll cover this with red nail polish later on.
2. After allowing it to dry for 5 minutes, dip a nail art brush in red nail polish and apply one generous glob to the top of your nail. Don't worry about making it even--this makes it look more realistic! Apply smaller globs and dots around the nail to add to the realism.
3. Dip a nail dotting tool in red nail polish and add more small and big dots around the globs you just made. Don't be neat or follow any pattern here--make them random. You can also use the dotting tool to refine any areas of the globs you've made, by adding more color on top of it, which makes it thicker (and looks more realistic).
4. After allowing the red nail polish to dry, dip a dotting tool in dark red nail polish and begin layering this over the red. Focus the color on the tops of your nails, pushing the color up and down to create this gooey, 3-D texture. Also, apply the dark red in the middle of any red globs or dots, but don't cover this completely, as it makes it look more transparent and realistic.
5. Apply a top coat and you're finished!

What a nice way to send off the Halloween season, eh? :3 This was a big collaboration Bethany (TheBethanyFae) organized a few months ago. I was originally going to be the Great Fairy, but when I did the actual look the wig just fell apart and I had no way to salvage it. So at the last minute I switched my look to Din, which is why it looks so simple. If I could do this over, I would go all out with the accessories and DIY stuff.

For the makeup I wanted it to actually be reflective of what Din might look like in reality. So, unfortunately, no shironuri makeup this time; I kept with my actual skin tone instead.
I screwed up the eye makeup pretty bad...but managed to save it at the end. But I wanted to do a smokey eye because I wanted her eyes to really stand out. Plus, I needed to do something other than a fancy cut crease look ;P
I added the freckles because I wanted to add more texture to Dins skin and make it look more human. And, because she is the friggin Goddess of Power, she needs to look like it, right? I added rhinestones on my face to make her look more fancy :3
I based her look also off the oracle from Oracle of Seasons. She looks similar to the Din statue in Wind Waker so I thought that would be a good reference point.
I also did an obscene amount of color grading and editing in this video. I tried a new editing workflow here to improve my video quality...plus I worked with animating things in Adobe Premiere Pro (look closely at the text and triforce, yeh). There is at least 27 hours put into this for just the video editing alone. AGH!

as i mentioned before, i wanted to do a proper test of a new palette i just bought, the electric palette from urban decay. i decided i wanted to create something using the blues and purples from the palette, since i rarely use them in my makeup tutorials.
so i experimented a bit and came up with this. some of you said on instagram that it looked liked a mermaid so im calling this a mermaid makeup look. i also wanted to test out how well I could blend and contour since I really dont do that much these days. seems it turned out decently ^_^
the origami im wearing in this video was made by me! i made these origami flowers and cranes over the course of a month as a something to do while watching tv...because evidently watching tv isnt enough entertainment for me. but i glued these to bobby pins and placed them in my hair.
