-Head to Old Yharnam from the cathedral checkpoint. Veer left, go across the bridge, head right, go down the stairs, and slide down the ladder to avoid gunfire. Go straight, head left into the church, and drop down to the altar. Go right out the door (grab the optional checkpoint), veer right again, and go down the bend.
-From here it's a straight shot through the town to the Blood-Starved beast. You can also get an optional checkpoint that will make it very easy to get back to the beast's room in the house on the right as soon as you enter the town.
