There is a full set of Hunter Armor that can be found for free in the Central Yharnam sewer. It is invaluable due to its defensive stat boosts and free cost at the beginning of the game.
To reach it simply go to the Central Yharnam lamp and proceed to down the right path. At the end of the stairs go straight down the road until you reach the bonfire with the burnt warewolf. Go up the left stairs and follow the path past the fountain where you will see the ogre at the door, up to the two dogs.
Dispatch the two dogs quickly and then take out the three humans and their dog when they arrive. Now head up the narrow pathway and you will see a bridge with warewolves on it. At the end of that bridge is the Cleric Beast that you will fight later. Ignore the wolves for now.
Continue going straight down the next path and you will see some boxes on the left side. Roll through them to get a hole. There is a ladder on the left but it's faster to just drop down. Do so and land on the left side where a lycan is. Kill the Lycan and follow the road all the way to the end of the sewer path.
At the end of the path you will see a beam on your right with a dead body and an item. Drop down to the beam and get the item. Beneath you are some rats so kill them when you fall. Behind you is steep drop and another Lycan.
Kill the Lycan and pick up the Hunter armor from the dead body on the ground. Be sure to equip all pieces so that you are prepared for the challenges ahead.
