And here we have one of my absolute favorite remasters I've done. I've been a huge fan of the Ace Combat series since playing 04 back on the PS2, and I've finally gotten to the point where I'm comfortable trying to remaster it. This one took several months to put the finishing touches on because I would just let it sit for a while and then do some tweaks here and there. I am definitely going to do more music from the PS2 Ace Combat games, but I figured I should start with one of the more iconic songs from the era.
Gameplay is of the mission Unexpected Visitor from the Ace Combat 7 DLC. My initial plan was to record the actual level in 04 that this played in, but I realized pretty quick that the PS2 game has not aged very well as far as graphics are concerned, and also it would be really hard to stretch that mission out for nine minutes. Fortunately the first mission of the AC7 DLC has a lot of visual similarities to the original Blockade mission.
Originally composed by Keiki Kobayashi. Remastered by me in Pro Tools. I do not own the original song.
