A new minute barrier has been broken in Blindfolded Super Mario 64 Speedrunning! For the first time in world's history, Bubzia beats the 16 Star category in SM64 in under 21 minutes with a final time of 20 minutes and 30 seconds! This speedrun was performed on August 28th! This world record is an improvement over the previous blindfolded WR by 43 seconds!

The run happened on Day 99 of the sub 20 16 Star grind and after struggling for months with the route, it finally feels finalized and ready to go. There were lots of discussions whether Bubzia should use the LBLJ or the no LBLJ route, as well as many other strategies that came and went within days.

Without the unfortunate mistake in Dire Dire Docks, this would have been a mid 19 minute time, so it definitely will happen soon! Bubzia will keep grinding, the goal of a sub 20 16 star blindfolded SM64 run is closer than ever!
