Word had spread among Roman commanders of a Celt who’d taken the life of a centurion some time back. They sent out an entire legion near Samurai country to capture the old Highlander. They were able to ambush him on a road, midday. They brought him west, to an arena on the outskirts of the Roman empire, populated mostly by people whom they themselves called barbarians. They told the old Highlander: “You will be our entertainment before we execute you. Get in the pit and fight.”
For months the old man fought every other day, killing animals and humans alike, and each of the fights was such a sight to behold that the Roman officer in charge of this outpost was impressed. No Roman officer like being stationed so far from the capital and the officer's bitterness towards his station, coupled with his respect for the Highlander, resulted in an offer to the old Highlander: the chance to fight a match for his freedom.
The opponent was one of Rome’s famous gladiators, a man with strange manners, who wielded a trident, small shield and who seemed to dance like a pugilist. There was no way the old man could move as quickly as this gladiator. It would not be until the last round of the match that the Old Man taught himself what historians later coined the "Claymore Shuffle" to keep step with the gladiator. Oddly, Mrs. Highlander used to make fun of the old man’s inability to dance when they were young and had just met. “It is like you have two left feet,” she said to him one day, making him blush. “But,” she added, “I would dance with no one else.”

One and the Same – The old man remembered back when he was a very young lad, hunting with his father one day. His father was the best fighter in all the village and had slain more Romans and rival Celts than any other man.“Father, asked the boy, if I plant an Oak, will I become strong? And if I treat my horses well, will I be swift? These were sayings around their town, and the boy was merely repeating what he’d heard.
His father stopped them from walking just as the mouth of the river could be seen through the trees. The boy heard the sound of the water going over the pebbles in the bend. His father looked up at the sun through some leaves and wiped sweat from his forehead. He tugged at the thick white braid in his beard. “Those are very good things to do,” he said, “but they will not make you strong and swift on their own. They are one in the same: strength and swiftness.”
The boy was holding a small rock he’d picked up because he liked the feel of it in his hand. When he heard what his father said he squatted down and started to make a circle in the dirt with the rock.
“If you can catch an animal with your bare hands, and build a fire anywhere, if you can remember the stories told to you, and then recite them to others, that’s a start,” said his father.
“How will that help me learn to fight?”
His father ignored his question and said, “The more you understand yourself, the better you understand the world. You should listen more than you speak.”
And to this the young boy said nothing.
“Then, if you truly know yourself, you will never rely on worldly things, and you’ll be able to fight blindfolded.”
Had the boy not followed his father’s advice, he never would have met his wife, who was from a town on the other side of that same river. When he met her, some years later, she was the most striking woman he’d ever seen, and also, being the daughter of a great Bard, he enjoyed listening to her talk about a great manner of things.
Therefore he picked one violet and one white flower, and gave them to her one day.
And therefore she twisted their stems together and did, indeed, wear them in her hair.

Note about the video: it was very fun playing with HUD in order to learn the timing on the new reworked heroes. I especially had fun playing the peacekeeper (who beat me when I was using a HUD). We had many great matches and I appreciated them all.")

I actually think Raider is in a pretty good spot - not sure about the amount of stamina drain on stunning tap (as seen in this video). It would be good for the overall health of the game if the dodge GB were removed some day (along with the dodge-to-unlock-roll tech) since we are given weapons in the game to use them. Raiders overall speed and strength feels alright to me. Also, shout-out to Raider mains out there (and Lawbringers!!!) whove stayed with the heroes since release. Hope youre all enjoying the reworks :)

Passing through foreign territory, the old man encounters a Kensei who has practiced the way of the Samurai for a very long time indeed. The face beneath the Kensei’s mask remains hidden, but something tells the old Highlander that this Samurai has many stories of his own. Never before has the old man seen someone so dedicated to a single way of fighting.
If the poet (Basho) is right, that “summer grass” is “all the remains of warrior’s dreams” then Spring might soon arrive. If the old man were home, and saw his wife feeding the birds, he would know exactly what time of year it is, but all this traveling turns life into one long season – changes in weather merely asides.
