The Schiller Institute NYC Chorus began on December 20th, 2014 as a Sing-Along performance of excerpts of Handel’s Messiah. The impromptu concert was organized by Schiller Institute musician Diane Sare in answer to the increasing divisions and violence in New York and other cities across America. The concert was dedicated to “The Sanctity of Every Human Life.”
The Schiller Institute has been performing and organizing for peace and harmony in the nation and the world ever since, wielding the power of classical art to help bring humanity together through a dialogue of cultures.
The program features the Mozart Coronation Mass, K 317, and includes excerpts from Handel's Messiah as well as a selection of Christmas Spirituals and Carols.
