I review the Blesk, a tier 8 Czech light tank in World of Tanks (WoT), with a replay of a tier 9 Abbey battle.
The Blesk is the first tech tree light tank at tier 8 and above that features an autocannon.
Strengths and Weaknesses
+ Superb gun depression (-10)
+ Superb burst damage on paper tanks with HE
+ Excellent burst damage with AP
+ Excellent HP pool (1200)
+ No premium ammo, and all 3 ammo types are useful and affordable
- Large profile
- Paper armor, highly vulnerable to HE
- Gun accuracy is relatively poor
- Gun blooms meaningfully as you unload your clip
Recommended Equipment
1. Optics
2. VStab
3. Low Noise Exhaust, Vents, or Commander Vision System
IMO VStab is a must to minimize bloom while firing. I prefer LNE over CVS on vision maps. It's more important to me to be as stealthy as possible. While CVS can help spot camoflagued targets, I tend to be able to find something. On city maps, I swap LNE for Vents.
This video is part of my "Road to Unicum" series in which I share what I learned as I progressed towards account Unicum rating (top 1%) with silver ammo only. I talk through how I'm reading the battle as it unfolds and discuss key decisions and mistakes. My hope is that these videos meaningfully help players improve their gameplay.
