Here's a song whose lyrics I wrote in high school. I wrote the tune and chords in college, and I learned it on uke much later.

I live in a bleak and white world
With very few shades left of gray
And as I look upon the future ahead
There just isn’t too much I can say
When all of my dreams have unfurled
And appear not to lead the right way
Than follow these dreams I would rather be dead
So I guess I’ve overwelcomed my stay
And so I’m Cast out into the night
By people who say I don’t try
But I’m not yet ready to cope with what’s real
So inside I just break down and cry
I’m lost in a world bleak and white
Where my life is a mote in my eye
My hope has left me and I cannot deal
So I think that instead I shall die
I live in a dream within a dream
Where all that you see is a sham
And when I go wondering who everyone else is
All I do is forget who I am
When nothing appears as it seems
I can’t tell the lion from the lamb
I find that I always am forced to be selfish
Cause nobody else gives a damn
And I say Life is harsh, it burns my skin
Life is deep, I drown in its sea
Life is a weapon life’s hurting me with
Life’s either so bright or so dark I can’t see and
Life is a prison that life keeps me in
Life is cruel, I feel it’s cruelty
Life is torturous for making me live
Life is so bleak that it's killing me
