✖️KEY NOTES (MILADY PAGE 695):
three types of lighteners = oil, cream & powder
lighteners need to be mixed with hydrogen peroxide (developer)
on-the-scalp lighteners can be placed directly on the scalp
off-the-scalp lighteners are intended for foiling and/or the bottom portion of the head
powder lighteners do expand and spread out as they process (you have to be careful it will drip out of the foil creating a zebra stripe)
there is no set processing time for lightening
hi lift colors are permanent hair colors that lighten the hair and deposit a tone in one step
hi lift colors are generally used with 40 volume developer
hi lift colors can be used directly on the scalp or off
