Whereas most side quests in Blasphemous leave a sense of clear-cut finality upon their conclusion, the story of Gemino is more abstract when it completes; there's still some lingering questions surrounding the man even when his side-quest is over. But like most things in Blasphemous, there are various clues in item descriptions and lore pages that lead to logical deductions that can help explain the full story of Gemino.
Let's go ahead and do just that, complete with the revisions to his quest given in the Stir of Dawn DLC update.
Also, Olari has a great video about Gemino, Engracia and Where Olive Trees Wither as well, but he goes into depth about the real world inspirations behind them. It's definitely a fun watch, and I recommend it wholeheartedly:
