Really interesting rewards that I'm interested in messing around with in the DLC at some point. I made a cloud save before beating the boss because I had a feeling that it would give you the rewards and take away the challenges (penances) or something like that and that's indeed what happened. So I will go into the DLC with the challenges (penances) active again.
