The Blackwater Blade can be obtained from the beginning of the game, go to the Bloated Float Inn. Rent & sleep in a bed to begin the quest, “An Unexpected Voyage”.

The sword absorbs fatigue/stamina from enemies, which can be useful in the early game. So long as you refill it with soul gems.
