Elden Ring Nightreign's DLC, the forsaken hollows, added a couple kinds of points of interest to the game. One type are the blacksmith villages, which have a unique smithing table which you can use to randomly change the skill on most weapons. In addition to that, you can find some surprisingly good loot in the village's chests, with purple drops being relatively common, and bow racks if you're into that sort of thing. These villages can be surprisingly lucrative in terms of runes and loot-- at least, the good ones are. Of the 8 kinds of blacksmith village in the game, 4 of them are pretty good, while the other 4 kinda completely suck.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
*Large/Secret Chest locations:*
- Holy: On the rampart near the tower, to the left of the main entrance
- Blood: Inside the rampart tower, to the left of the main entrance
- Lightning A: In the rampart tower up the hill left of the entrance, the tower is next to the large break in the wall
- No Affinity/Physical A: On the rampart wall before boss, on the left side when coming from the bridge
- Fire: On the rampart wall in the middle of the village, right above alleyway forge
- Poison: On the rampart tower left of the smithing table (opposite of the rampart tower right of the table, which has the forge spawn)
- No Affinity/Physical B: In the rampart tower left of the entrance
- Lightning B: In rampart tower to right of smithing table, where a forge can spawn
