This update brings the most realistic and immersive cloud and atmosphere experience yet for Kerbal Space Program. A huge amount of work has gone into refining the visuals, shading, and performance to make your flights through the skies truly breathtaking.
✨ What’s New in the 5th Release:
Vastly improved cloud realism – no more flat skies! Convective clouds and formations look natural and dynamic.
Enhanced 3D noise, shading, formations, and rendering for richer detail.
Laythe volcanoes redesigned to take advantage of the new system.
Anti-tiling improvements to reduce repetition artifacts.
Wet surface effects – puddles form, ripple, and dry naturally, even in timewarp.
Screen-Space Reflections (SSR) – reflections on puddles, parts, terrain, and Scatterer oceans are more accurate than ever.
Improved lighting & shadows – clouds integrate naturally with ambient light and reflection probes.
Cloud painter upgrades – live previews and tile-based brushes make creating formations easier.
Orbital view improvements – seamless transition with 2D clouds using normalmap support.
Plus many bug fixes and performance improvements.
