"It's a matter of perspective."

(An extremely elaborate) synopsis:
~ Sawyer comes under fire for murders. Jack leads from the front in persecuting him.
~ Sawyer and Kate play a game of 'I Never'. It's revealed Kate's killed before, and she's not exactly broken up about it... she's almost boastful. "Didn't last very long". She sees Christian Shephard, and murders him.
~ Jack finds his father's shoes in a suitcase Kate is after. He confronts Christian and accuses him of adultery with "his wife." Kate refuses to tell Jack about the shoes.
~ Jack tells everyone he's going crazy, from a sickness caused by trauma. That's the reason he's acting so rationally, and he seems to forget things, as well. He blames the condition for all this.
~ Jack wants Kate back, but that can't happen, because Sawyer loves Kate. Sawyer denies this but Jack's adament. EXCEPT, that's not the case. "None of that ever happened." Sawyer and Kate were never together. Ever. It is all in Jack's head. EVERYTHING grayscale/black & white is in his head.
~ Locke tells Kate that Jack could be "one of them". An Other or an other Other, it's not determined. John justifies that "crazy people don't know they're going crazy", yet Jack proclaims this incessantly. REVEAL, Jack's not really crazy. Well, not in the sense he thinks he is, BUT.
~ "It's him". GUNSHOT. Ana Lucia's dead. Jack was the man behind the gun. Not Saywer.
~ "He will lie. For a long time, he will lie." Rousseau wasn't talking about Sawyer. She was talking about Jack, and knew about what he had done... What he was. Because of that, she doesn't survive the day.
~ As the climax nears, Locke asks where Jack's off to. John is more than suspicious of him at this point. So he should be - Jack's on his way to get Mr. Eko... and he does.
~ In front of everyone, Jack puts a gun to Locke's head. Kate: "You played us. You played me." We once more see the suitcase with Kate's belongings. Christian's shoes were never in there. Only an envelope reading 'Personal Effects'... he only imagined the shoes out of paranoia, like everything else grayscale. "You got me," Jack says smugly.
~ Jack pulls the trigger - again - this time to Locke. His vengeance will not cease. His deranged vengeance, that is... and it's made up of fictional, dellusioned events.
~ Jack's no longer sane enough to just confront and question Kate anymore. He accuses Kate of Christian's death (murder, in his mind), and vows to kill her...

The biggest irony in the end is that Jack really is crazy. He had made up a story about a condition getting at him - and it seemed bad enough - but the real psychosis of Jack was much, much worse.

Sawyer never killed anyone. Kate never had a relationship with Christian, or James. Jack's diseased mind created those moments. It convinced him of them.
