Porous Parking Lot Addresses Flooding Concerns
Given that the Black Page Brewery is situated within a floodplain area, the objective was to establish a porous parking system that would remain resilient in the face of potential flooding or intense rain events. The parking area also experiences significant traffic flows, so a system that could handle heavy traffic was also a top priority. For the final look, the owners wanted the most aesthetically pleasing pavers available that allowed for handicap delineators.
The initial project pavement design involved a substantial layer of screened rock, which proved to be cost-prohibitive. Consequently, the owners had to explore alternatives and found that the GEOPAVE® Gravel Pavers were a more economical solution.
