„Wenn Du keine Luft mehr bekommst, atme Licht.
Ein Song der mir kurz vor der Jahrtausendwende unter die Haut gefahren ist und seither dort mietfrei gewohnt hat. Hundert Mal (mindestens) hab‘ ich dazu getanzt. Und in meinem Kopf immer das Bild - was, wenn ich den Protagonisten dort nicht mehr haben möchte, wie erstickend es ist, wenn Dich jemand einfach nicht gehen lassen will. Ich mich befreien möchte, ausbrechen will aus der Melancholie, die sich eingegraben hat.
Dann braucht es eben eine neue Haut, dann muss man sich herausschälen aus dem Kokon der Dich umspannt. Wieder atmen können, ans Licht bringen, was so lange verborgen war.
Als ich dann - viel viel später gefragt wurde, ob ich für Silke Bischoff auf der Bühne tanzen würde - da war meine einzige Bedingung, dass es „Under Your Skin“ sein musste. Der Wunsch wurde wahr und mit meiner (fast) Namensvetterin wurde dann das Video realisiert, gab mir die Gelegenheit die Befreiung nicht nur zu erleben, sondern auch zu beobachten.“
