The inspiration for the concept of humanophobia has been derived from my visit to the former Cambodian concentration camp S-21 (Security Office 21), which was set up in an erstwhile school. Between the years 1975 to 1979 the Khmer Rouge imprisoned and tortured people that resisted or where just believed to oppose their extremist ideology in this compound. Executions were held in the nearby orchard Choeung Ek, which was turned into a mass grave for the regimes victims. Both sites have meanwhile been designated as national monuments. It has been estimated that during the four years, in which the Khmer Rouge controlled Cambodia up to 2 of the 7 million inhabitants of the country were murdered. Of the 14,200 citizens incarcerated in S-21 only 7 confirmed survivors escaped the terror. Martin Sane/Fïx8:Sëd8

The original idea for Will Nicht – MUSS! is based on the classic German movie M (1931), which was directed by Fritz Lang following his huge success with Metropolis. The subtitle A City Is Hunting for a Killer, sums up the basic plot. The murdering antagonist keeps whistling the main theme from Edvard Griegs In the Hall of the Mountain King throughout the movie. This inspired us to take Griegs melody and weave a tough Die Krupps signature style song around it. The composition came together just as quickly as our big hit Robo Sapien, which is always a good sign. We hope that our fans will receice the track just as positively! Jürgen Engler/Die Krupps
