neptune is the god of the sea.
the sea is an interesting place. it is great and vast, deep and expansive, mysterious and unknown. the deeper you go in it, the darker, and the more deadlier it becomes. people always underestimate how deadly the waters are. one wrong move, and you could die. deep sea predators, some pathogen locked away beneath the depths, just the simple act of drowning. all these things could kill you.
neptune is the eigth planet from the sun.
it is the most distant, and the most coldest of all planets in the solar system (atleast according to our definition of planet, and according to what we know about the solar system). much like the sea, its blue, while seemingly welcome at first, is just as deadly. no spacecraft that we have built so far could survive the sheer weight of the atmosphere the deeper you go
turbulent. stormy. cold. crushing. distant.
these words apply to both neptunes, but i find it fitting for a particular kind of people, place, whatever. what used to be the calm, warmth, closeness of something that ive considered home has been replaced with turbulence, cold, and distance. it feels like getting stabbed in the back. theres not much of anything i could call "home" anymore, nothing could ever fill the void it leaves. its a shame, really. what is left, the soulless husk of it, is anathema to what once was.
happy 15th birthday. i hope you have many more, even if by now that seems like a faint possibility
