▶ 9 or so minutes?? My longest piece of music to date I think. Very proud of this one! My initial goal was to study the style of Final Fantasy VII Remake's soundtrack, it started off as a style study of the Jenova arrange by Tadayoshi Makino which I've always loved but took a new shape along the way. In a way you could view this as "Black Knife if it was arranged by Square Enix for a modern Final Fantasy game", which eventually evolved into this huge full arrange.

So on that line, the arrangement is split into four parts or "movements" to go with the Final Fantasy vibes hah. The first one slowly introduces the themes but the melodies aren't quite right, pretty freely transformative section of the arrange. The second movement starts to introduce the melody and accompaniment getting closer to the original, driving forward at a more controlled pace. The third movement is intentional made to be that cathartic moment of it finally being a closer arrange to the original piece and brings in the band in a typical JRPG fashion. I had the fun thought of introducing a FF7R Whispers type moment but having Gaster as that kind of formless entity meddling with the story so I made the fourth movement kind of reflect that using "ANOTHER HIM" interwoven with Black Knife motifs.
