Important note: I originally had a fan curve that was well fitting for my 3080 where it would cap out at 1890~ to keep power and temps/fan down. I did not realize that in some scenarios where remaster was gpu bound that i was hitting my thermal limits and throttling. I put fans to 85 for my 5800x3d testing to try at least keep some remaining consistency.
Keep note of the core clock on the right as there are some instances where the GPU thermal throttles at 91c.
The test isn't perfect but at the very least there's some sort of comparison to be shown i guess.
Settings: Texture Quality was at High for every test. No AA, No SSAO, Everything off except far away NPC and reduce snow build up. Only the CPU was swapped and ram is at 3200. Resolution is 3440x1440p. Cropped for video
5600x was at a 4.6Mhz on some cores with 555 affinity.
5800x3d had pbo underbolt for 4.45Mhz with 5554 affinity.
Tried to have some relatively similar footage, but especially with hexe, watching each video individually is probably ideal.
So if anyone was wondering what the performance improvement there was between 5800x3d and similar chips to 5600x then i hope this was a good enough example for you.
