With all the praise I hear this level get, I had always wondered if maybe it would be better to play than it seemed, since it always seemed annoying to me really. After I beat Galactic Shift, I was looking at the AREDL to see a level I could beat for a new hardest and this showed up. I always admired the level conceptually but I really felt like the gameplay wouldn't be something I enjoy.
When we're talking about 25-100% on this level, I have a lot to appraise it for! The cube gameplay at 25% always seemed like it would be the worst part to me, but after learning it well I actually really came to like how it flowed and it felt very satisfying to execute. The way the click pattern goes with the music is very nice so I can reliably use the song to help reference when to time my clicks. The drop also plays very well, with things like the duals and cube gameplay being very uniquely satisfying. Playing the drop from 0 was a very different experience though.
When you play from the beginning of this level, the drop turns from an interesting and bouncy section of the level into mostly nerve control. Now this is only an issue because I struggle with nerve control a lot, but it really defined how I experienced the gameplay. I really did not enjoy playing the beginning of this level. It has cool base gameplay and if I was better at timings this wouldn't be an issue, but some of the clicks felt very hard to do consistently for a while. Especially the 3rd blue orb in the level, which is right at the start but it gets annoying dying there because your setup is always different depending on how you do the orbs before. It's satisfying to do still, but I am often very frustrated with trying to pass it consistently. As a result, I would get nervous playing at the drop. The second cube I actually quite often passed from 0 which was very nice and assuring.
I would recommend this level if you are good with timings. If the first part of this level is too frustrating for you, it may not be very fun overall unless you're more patient than I am (not a high bar). Although I am very glad to have beaten this as the level is somewhat special to me as it is to lots of others.
