During the same sermon, he challenged members preparing for an upcoming $1,000 Day of Giving by pointing to the widow’s oil story in 2 Kings 4 and saying, “You got neighbors. Go ask.” In the biblical account, Elisha instructed the widow to borrow empty vessels from her neighbors before God multiplied her oil.
