Tadaa! I bring you all the parts I edited for birthdays this year!!! Well minus two since one is long enough on its own and the other....well the other if you know which it is you know what my next collection is gonna be HAHA. This also goes in chronological order of editing except for Who Do U Love since those two parts pretty much go from one into the other so I wanted to switch them around~
But anyway before this year I feel like my peak collective editing for mep parts was 2015 but 2021 is definitely my second wind. I love every single part I edited for this collection and am very proud :) of course most of these were edited while I cackled in the background but that's neither here nor there. The best editing is done when scheming, it is just true.
Also it's a good thing I don't make too many friends HAHA. This would definitely be too long otherwise.

When I chose this song for this years neshiki day it was planned out in my head before the anime even came out man...and then the anime did come out and it had all the perfect scene and I solidified this song as my choice. I was going to start this between doing vegas lights as like a break between the fx and raw but then I had a thought.
Then I had a thought what if what if in NTWEWY we DO see Shikis face...then I can do the full song...so I waited...
AND HOLY MY HEART. Not ONLY did they do a neshiki reunion buT they drew Shikis face full on in a cutscene thats a throwback to the first game when Neku sees her RG form for the first time....I already cried when they showed her for the first time but then they did THAT scene and I was crying again.
jfc I was supposed to talk about the neshiki in the anime because I hadnt done so yet....how am I suddenly having a neshiki overload....?! bless.

THE NESHIKI IN THE ANIME...THEY GAVE US THE SOFTEST SMILES EVER. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE CLIPS. LOOK AT THEM. MY PERFECT BABIESSSSS. While Im still sad they removed pretty much all of the arguments (shikis got so many indignant/angry sprites but there was none in sight in the anime sob sob) they did increase the softness post-them becoming friends by a lot. They let Neku say Shikis name so many times, my heart couldnt handle that ;-; ALSO NOT NEKU SAYING HE WANTED TO SEE SHIKI SMILING AND WALKING AROUND TOWN LIKE....STOPP ;-; AND THEN THEM REINTRODUCING THEMSELVES TO EACH OTHER WHEN THEY MEET EACH OTHER IN THE RG?! ;-; bitch how dare you
speaking of that I am fully of the belief that they changed the scene of Neku and Shikis parting to being painful and then them shaking hands as introduction to make it so that they parallel Rindoka who also had a dramatic fadeaway AND a handshake/reintroduction at the end. What proof do I have? I SIMPLY KNOW. I KNOW IN MY HEART OF HEARTS. PROTAG X MR MEW GIRL SUPREMACY.
also ALSO the way Shiki could sense Neku was there...Shiki mental link further confirmed...I love how that carries on from final mix where she called Neku thinking something was wrong/bad was going to happen....Im soft Im so soft....
OH BACK TO THE REUNION - okay look I already cried the first time I playedthrough...I then went to watch some Japanese cutscenes and I....the last lines Shiki and Neku say are Okaeri and Tadaima respectively. yall know what Im talking about...the Welcome home, Im home I spent like another 10/15 minutes crying after that lmao Im so freaking weak. (also nice to know Im enough of a weeb to understand most of their convo without subs lol).
at this point I should probably talk about the edit UH so the last two/three weeks of work has been an absolute paiiiiin. I took the week off to play the game so I finished about 6 days after...managed to socialise with my friends even (would be ironic to choose playing a game over spending time with friends considering its twewy haha). spent a week after finishing ntwewy just playing only an hour/two after work to get most of the secret reports because dang the last 2/3 weeks of work have been SO busy. Im surprised I managed to get this finished on time in all honesty. Though you can tell I kind of gave up on adding more text later on haha...I like it this way though haha
I was also busy organising neshiki day on twitter~ if I managed to promo enough to get more people into posting for neshiki day this year than last year than I will be very happy (lol imagine me putting this much enthusiasm into my actual job HAHA). That said Aya and Kazea if you two manage to reach this part of the desc THANK YOU SO MUCH. You both helped me an amazing amount and are just super fun to talk to in general.
Lena and Gigi when you finally get to reading this/seeing this of course this is also dedicated to you guys. This be my fave all time low song with my fave ship so this edit is special to me and I hope as FHS leaders you approve too haha

Full disclosure, I totally rewatch my edits a bunch of times when I feel like it. I love all my edits in one way or another. Thats not to say I dont have days where I see some edits and go ah I wish I had that technique/patience/know-how etc. but 95% of the time I look at my edits after rendering and go heh. Hehehhe. Overly lengthy commentary:
2009 - I downloaded the MEP to get this.This was for Amans Pokeshipping WORM…oof, I used to look up to him so much when I started out editing. Theres clearly some effect spamming of me not knowing what to do lol
2010 - Pretty sure Tadamu MEP Studios was my life back then. Tadamu and Pokeshipping were definitely my top OTPs back in the day. I think this is also when Skype Crew started, I remember getting up early Malaysian time (5am?) to chat on skype with everyone heh. Ahhh, good times.
2011 - THOSE ARE SPICEMASTER EFFECTS AHAHAHAHA. Who remembers that, gosh? Gotta rep Penguin and Contest here clearly discovered editing with fanart/doujin.
2012 - That Rimahiko part is still one of my all time faves just cause it fits the lyrics so much heh. That first SyaoSaku and the double vision part was for a BBT…oof thats even more of a callback. I was competitive and wanted to win pfft. Editing wise Ive started to try some effects out more huh. Double vision has my handwriting…LOL I drew a shirt for Drew…its in the full part but anyway…
2013 - ALL HAIL MY ABSOLUTE FAVE GAME TWEWY. -coughs- Addiction to Wishful spotted. Overlays were my friend by this point. My candy/fx editing cleaned up a bit more by this time! My typo is still a bit questionable pffft. burn everything you love and burn the -click- ashes is the highlight of 2013 for me. Im still so proud of that alksdjaljd
2014 - The effort in these MEP parts seems to have increased a lot by now. Maybe because I kept getting effect parts ahahaha. Though theres definitely stuff in here where I remember going Ive run out of effects…GOOD ENOUGH. Also this fancy part is a turning point because by now Im friends with Tash and shes in my dorm being like DINA WHAT IS WITH YOUR TYPO and Im like LEAVE ME ALONE xDDD.
2015 - -stares- Yeah I think the editing fairy visited me. This part at 7:27, I remember saying this was a speed edit and Tash said But its pretty good??? and I rewatched it and was like you know what youre dang right its good lmao. Can I even edit any of this now? Maybe if I have time ahaha. This year has the longest section within this collection…I blame it on the amount of free time I had in my first year of uni. You might mistake me as an fx editor from all these fx parts wow but they were hard to do and Im proud of the results eheh
2016 - While not as flashy, I think my flow is better in this year than the last. Also shoutout to minimalistic TWEWY part…simple and clean, one could say -cough- Also RIP Ishihime and Ichiruki 2016. You will always be remembered ;-;
2017 - Uhhh sorry for anime-onlies for that Promised Neverland part whoops. Also theres a part where the lines are lips are moving but 15:38 his HIPS are moving -bdm tsss-. Sorrynotsorry. Ahem. Stylistically…what style? This is definitely all over the place…perfect lol I do however reuse my colourings from time to time, as you can probably tell.
2018 - IN THIS HOLY YEAR I EDIT NESHIKI CANDY. Speaking of my weeb-ness I watch/read so much content but it really seems like I only edit with a few fandoms huh. Whoops. In true Dina fashion imma direct you to 17:28 where it goes hands up because Im very proud of that second in particular.
2019 - Im especially proud of my MEP parts for Sapphy and Lena this year! Always love making stuff for people I love :D This year seems pretty balanced. The continuity of me editing in random styles strikes again. Ending this collection the same way it started: Pokeshipping!
