A man was shot and killed by a Birmingham police officer on Monday, according to police.

Sgt. Laquitta Wade with the Birmingham Police Department said around 3:45 p.m., reports came in of a man waving a gun and pulling on vehicle doors in the Ensley community. While an officer was enroute, the report was updated and claimed the man had fired shots at a home.
