This Western Scrub-Jay spent over half an hour chasing this lovely King Snake all over our driveway. This same bird also chases our cat back into the garage and eats all her food. We had a mountain lion in our garage once a few years ago, and if this bird had been around then, I think it might have gone after the puma as well.
I changed the title from "blue jay" to "scrub jay." I knew back when I posted this that this is a scrub jay, but most people call them blue jays. However, I kept getting emails from people objecting to my using the common term, and I got sick of dealing with these people, so I changed the title. However, all the comments about "scrub" vs. "blue" are still listed below, so I though I should let everyone know why people made those comments.
