A Boy Scout story, with birds appearing as the Scouts. A little bird is the bugler who can't seem to awaken early enough to blow reveille. He finally redeems himself when he warns the other birds of his squad of the approach of a cat. His spirited blowing saves his fellow soldiers. He later rescues the cat from drowning, teaching the lesson of friendship to all, including former adversaries.
