Bird collisions have an impact on all of us! When our feathered friends strike windows and other clear or reflective surfaces, they injure themselves or pass away, which throws the balance of our ecosystem.
Artist Katie Mulligan created original works of art on the partitions around campus to make a statement and bring awareness to this issue. This is happening in sequence with the "Lights Out!" campaign that happened earlier this year, where ESF students, with the assistance of administration, were able to turn the lights off at the JMA Wireless Dome to help the wildlife and make a splash.
These efforts around the topic will continue, and growing collaborations between SUNY ESF's birding club and the Onondaga Audubon are taking place.
