Rebuilding half of the City’s largest wastewater treatment plant is making major progress! The Biosolids Digester Facilities Project (BDFP) celebrated another major milestone in April 2024 as we successfully lifted and placed the lid to the third biodigester at the Southeast Treatment Plant in the Bayview.
Each of the five biodigester lids are made fully of steel and weigh roughly 40 tons. The lift required two stationary and one mobile crane to successfully place the lid.
These lids will play an important part in capturing and treating odors from the wastewater treatment process.
