Stray Along The Way | Bioluminescence Bay: Searching for bioluminescent plankton near Cape Town @Strayalongtheway | Uploaded February 2017 | Updated October 2024, 19 hours ago.
We discovered bioluminescence for the first time a few nights ago in Cape Town. A friend of ours posted that they had been out to Kogel Bay in search of a glowing sea. We decided that we had to make the trip out there as well and see it for ourselves.

Chemical reactions that emit cold light in plankton creates an ocean of neon glows - something we've never experienced before. You can read more about bioluminescence here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioluminescence
