On December 6th 2023, Lib Dem peer Paul Scriven introduced a Private Member's Bill to disestablish the Church of England in parliament. Cries of "not content" were heard at the introduction of this bill - before members had even had a chance to read it. Members of the House of Lords do our democracy no favours by seeking to block a key constitutional issue of disestablishmnet from even being debated.
