Bill Harrelson has set two aviation world records in his Lancair IV: Distance Class C-1.d from Guam to Jacksonville, FL in 2013, and Speed around the world over both the earth's poles, also in Class C-1.d, where he crossed both the South Pole and the North Pole in January of 2015 on a trip around the world.
I was able to sit down with Bill over breakfast recently, and we talked about the purpose-built Lancair which he and his wife Sue built and modified specifically for ultra-long distance flights. Learn about the airplane and about Bill's methodical approach to taking on long distances as we chat over our Eggs Benedict and take a tour of the airplane.
