One of the great advantages of the piano duo is that is perhaps easier to create this sort of dialogue/playspace than it is in the guitar trio format. The latter does other things the piano cannot, of course. Pianist Michiel Borstlap was a fabulous, fearless partner, and it is hard to believe this is the first time we'd played together.
