We invited World Champion and Olympic mountain biker Kate Courtney to ride the trails of the San Vicente Redwoods to demonstrate the relationship between conservation and recreation.
Late last year, a new network of trails opened to the public at the San Vicente Redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This new access is the culmination of a partnership between the League, SempervirensFund, Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST), and the Land Trust of Santa Cruz County to protect and restore this landscape and make it available to the public to enjoy. The 7+ miles of new trails are the first phase of a proposed 38-mile trail system offering ocean views and a forest in recovery from logging and the CZU wildfire.
