I was connecting from Union Station to DCA airport and took the scenic route with my Gopro! This is probably hands-down the best way to do it...not stuck in traffic, and still able to fit in so many sights in only 90 minutes. From the White House to the Capitol building, the National Mall to Georgetown, and finally down the final stretch along the Mount Vernon Trail. If every US city had this high quality of active and public transit infrastructure, I might not have abandoned the USA. Support my bike shop: http://VillageBicycles.ca.
