Global travel continues its powerful comeback, with some destinations experiencing remarkable growth. According to the latest World Tourism Barometer published by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), more than 1.5 billion international tourists travelled abroad in 2025. International arrivals grew by 4% globally, approaching the steady pre-pandemic growth average of around 5% per year between 2009 and 2019. From nature-rich islands to historic cultural hubs, these countries are seeing the fastest increases in visitors.
