Big Trouble in Little China Needs a Reboot || John Carpenter’s martial arts movie “Big Trouble in Little China” may have been the visual inspiration for Raiden from Mortal Kombat, but the retrospective I took regarding the cult classic starring Kurt Russell’s Jack Burton, Dennis Dun’s Wang Chi and James Hong’s David Lo Pan shows that there are a lot of problems with the movie when it came to properly depicting Chinese myth, culture and Chinese American history and heritage that a “Big Trouble in Little China” remake couldn’t fix. And no, not one starring Dwayne Johnson.
